A Pair of Toleware Canisters
The maker of these canisters clearly took pride in their creation. The inside is finished in black giving a clean finish. The red background on the canisters has a crackle glaze feel to it giving depth to the piece.
Bearing pictures of men and women with trees on the wider angles of the canisters, while the shorter sides birds with flowers. The top and surround have also been decorated.
These canisters appear to have been hand painted as although the decoration is the same pattern, they vary slightly.
Adorning any room these canisters would bring warmth in their colour and interest in the design.
