19th Century Middle Eastern Pedestal Stand
19th Century Middle Eastern Pedestal Stand
A delightful late 19th Century Middle Eastern brass jardinière pedestal stand. The whole surface is covered with animals, birds and flowers running up the stem in an alternate ribbon of pattern. One solid whilst its neighbour has tiny holes punched out around the birdlike four legged creatures. The base and flute is also decorated with flowers and mythical style creatures.
The colour and patination combined with the design we think, has created a very beautiful and interesting piece. We have simply placed a solid pot inside with this trailing indoor plant inside to spill down over the flute.
The pedestal could easily be placed in a garden setting, the base has an open bottom. The patination would continue to change in the weather. Putting soft lighting inside with a trailing plant in the top, the light bleeding through the tiny holes would create a wow factor in your garden as the evening light fades.
