Full Description
The construction of this wrought iron garden bench gives equal attention to support and silhouette. Slender iron bars rise from the seat frame to form overlapping pointed arches, creating a repeating Gothic pattern beneath the curved top rail. The camelback profile lifts the centre of the back, giving the bench a defined outline without making the framework feel heavy.
The armrests are formed from closely spaced round iron rods, sweeping over each side between larger scrolls that curl at both the front and rear. Their rounded profiles contrast with the flat iron strips forming the Gothic arches, giving the bench a considered balance of line, shape and texture.
Horizontal iron slats form the seat, held within a rectangular perimeter frame. Cross braces and two diagonal struts beneath tie the supporting structure together. The legs are slender and direct, ending in flat pad feet that give the bench a neat, grounded finish.
Stone-grey paint remains across the metalwork, with areas of surface rust introducing warmer tones and texture. This weathered finish sits comfortably against brick, gravel and established planting, allowing the decorative ironwork to remain the main feature.
