This distinctive Antique Victorian mahogany wine table is a rare and wonderfully characterful piece, dating to the mid-to-late 19th century (c.1860–1890). Designed in a classic tripod form, it is crowned with a beautifully executed parquetry inlaid top, centred by a striking starburst motif that immediately draws the eye.
What truly sets this table apart is the unusual lower arrangement: three small circular rests beneath the top, branching outward like petals. CONDITION
As you can imagine, our pieces have lived a life before arriving with us, and this table carries the honest charm of age. There are signs of natural wear, fading, and surface marks throughout, all consistent with a genuine Victorian antique.
There is a small loss to one edge of the ebonised veneer, but overall the table presents extremely well. The structure is sound and the condition is good and commensurate with age, with a lovely warm patina that only time can create.
