Original 1950s Spanish Brutalist Elm and Leather Chair

Key design highlights...

★ Sculptural Spanish Brutalist elm frame with raw primitive grain
★ Aged studded leather seat in original condition
★ Bold three-legged tripod base and shaped arms
★ Deep natural patina and visible hand-tool marks
★ Mid-century Catalan craftsmanship and architectural presence

Each 1950s Catalan Brutalist elm and leather chair carries a distinct sense of history and craftsmanship. Handcrafted from solid elm, it reveals primitive sculptural lines, raw natural grain, and the deep patina that only decades of use can create. This is not just a chair — it’s a functional work of art, embodying the strength and honesty of mid-century Spanish design.

Secure this authentic Spanish Brutalist piece today and add a touch of architectural beauty to your home or design project.

This rare and authentic 1950s Spanish Primitive Brutalist armchair was crafted with integrity and soul in Catalonia, Spain. The solid elm frame displays the rough texture and tool marks characteristic of handcrafted Catalan furniture, particularly beneath the seat — clear evidence of its artisanal origin. Over time, the wood has developed a rich, warm patina that catches light beautifully. The aged studded leather seat remains original, with gentle wear that enhances its elegance rather than detracting from it.

Its solid weight and handcrafted construction reflect the primitive aesthetic and architectural strength typical of mid-century Spanish Brutalist furniture. Designed with a three-legged tripod base and sculpted arms, it balances bold geometry with everyday usability. Its presence, texture, and authenticity evoke the enduring appeal of vintage Spanish modernism.

Whether placed in a gallery corner, part of a curated vintage furniture collection, or within a high-end interior, it stands as both a functional piece and a sculptural statement.

Pair this chair with other seating, tables, or vintage furniture in our Collections page to build a coherent mid-century Spanish aesthetic throughout your home.
