This elegant set of three Murano style tazza glasses beautifully evokes the rich Venetian glassmaking tradition. Each piece is hand‑blown in three sections—the caramel‑swirl base transitions into a twisted stem with three curled supports holding the shallow tazza cup. The layered veining and marble‑effect finish, punctuated by fish‑like air bubbles, showcase artisanal craftsmanship. Visible cut marks hint at the detailed glass‑blowing process, while the hidden pontils suggest careful assembly rather than single‑piece blowing.
Originally used for serving fruit desserts or sipping fine wine or champagne, these glasses combine historical design significance with visual appeal. Drawing inspiration from Renaissance Venetian Tazza forms, they reflect centuries of tradition in a modern collectible set.
In excellent condition with no chips cracks or damage. The glass has been finished to look like marble veining. Minimal wear may be visible only on close inspection, validating their handmade nature rather than detracting from beauty. Sold together as a complementary trio—perfect for collectors or as a refined gift.
A Note on Murano Craftsmanship
Many traditional Murano glass designs, including tazzas and stemmed glasses, are created in separate sections. The base, stem, and bowl are often blown individually and then fused together while still hot. This approach allows for intricate details without compromising strength or balance. When executed by skilled hands, the joins are virtually invisible, leaving the impression of a single, seamless piece.
It’s also important to remember that Murano glass was not always signed. Before the 1970s, many authentic works left workshops unmarked, as signatures and labels were not standard practice. This means that older, unsigned examples can still be entirely genuine, carrying with them the artistry and tradition of Murano’s glassmakers.
