This elegant late Victorian marble pedestal column is carved from striking Verd Antique green brecciated marble, a richly veined decorative stone prized throughout the nineteenth century for architectural interiors and ornamental columns.
The pedestal features a tall turned shaft articulated with five projecting torus ring mouldings, dividing the column into balanced architectural sections. These mouldings reference classical column proportions while creating visual rhythm along the slender vertical form.
At the base, an octagonal plinth with moulded profile provides both structural stability and decorative presence. The upper section culminates in a square display platform with gently chamfered edges, perfectly proportioned for sculpture, decorative objects, or plants.
