Extraordinary Painted Chinese Bank of 57 Drawers in Calligraphy

I immediately warmed to the colorful earthy tones bestowed upon this bank of 57 Chinese drawers hand‑painted with calligraphy. Eye‑poppingly beautiful, at first glance—it simply grabs your attention.
The wide‑faced frame of the Chinese bank of multi‑drawers is adorned with Chinese calligraphy, not only on the frame but on every single small drawer and the three wider bottom drawers as well. The entire piece features a dragged brown base paint layered under a rusty, deep earthy orange top coat, allowing the black calligraphy writing to pop.
The raised and fielded sides and top are full of character, complete with stylish fretwork cut skirting at the front. Each drawer sports a primitive iron drop‑ring drawer pull. The drawers are deep, and several are sectioned into multiple storage compartments, perfect for organizing small treasures or crafts.
We attempted to translate some of the calligraphy—it appears to reference agriculture and mining. Though translation remains challenging, the top horizontal frame may read “Dig and dig with great effort.”
