Herbert Terry & Sons Anglepoise Lamp Model 1209
British engineering at it best with a great history.
Iconic Herbert Terry & Sons Model 1209 (1933 - 1968) anglepoise lamp in near original condition. This 1209 model has the original cream paint finish, plenty of wear, chips and original capped springs.
In my opinion one of the best fluid movements they made with a near perfect balance in the various positions.
This is the version with the longer arms at 47cm (18 inches) rather than the short arm version. The lower arms have three two at the front one to the rear with two springs. The top is constructed with two arms and two springs and the arms fold flat when fully extended.
This 1209 model is one up from the original Prototype (1932 - 1933) which had the taller cast base. By no means definitive as there are various versions or subtle difference between models such as the materials available at the time to build them.
This all aside, the 1209 is an iconic model and now becoming much more rare and very hard to find.

Approximately 110mm with the arms fully extended. Various other positional dimensions due to its articulation.
Condition: As you can imagine, our products have had a life before we got them, been used and cherished by many others before we received them. Therefore, you will see signs of ageing, natural wear, fading & marks which create their unique look. Overall the condition is good and the condition is commensurate with its age.
