These architectural carved giltwood oak corbels are a striking example of late 19th to early 20th century decorative craftsmanship. Each corbel is carved from solid oak, featuring sweeping scrollwork that flows into a dramatic shell motif, creating a sense of movement and classical balance. During refurbishment following the Booker McConnell takeover in 1969–1970, the corbels were removed and rescued from disposal by a private individual. Their stylistic language aligns closely with late Victorian or early Edwardian architectural ornament, suggesting manufacture in the late 1800s to early 1900s.
