Full Description
This elegant antique Victorian standard lamp exemplifies the refined classical influences popular in the latter part of the 19th century. Constructed entirely from solid brass, the lamp displays exceptional weight and presence, immediately signalling its quality and original status as a luxury furnishing.
The beautifully proportioned reeded stem rises to a Corinthian-inspired floral collar, while the square stepped base is enriched with finely detailed laurel wreath panels. Each corner is supported by claw feet, grounding the design with both visual strength and architectural balance.
Standing approximately 140 cm high, this lamp commands attention without overwhelming a space. Its generous proportions and classical detailing make it equally suited to traditional interiors, period homes, and more eclectic or layered schemes where contrast and character are key.
Originally produced for affluent Victorian interiors, the lamp has since been sympathetically updated for modern use. It has been professionally rewired with a braided cable, fitted with a bayonet holder and safety switch, and PAT tested, allowing it to be used with confidence today.
A lampshade is not included; any shade shown in photographs is for display purposes only, allowing the buyer full freedom to tailor the final look.
