A Scandinavian style with the lightness of the ash timber. Two small drawers sit over four graduated wide drawers, mounted on four substantially turned feet.
Quite rare to find these days in ash and a timber so often overlooked in favour of other species. The timber always give me the feel the furniture maker has been influenced by the Scandinavian market where light woods flourish.
The grain alone has a mesmerising look, like water over sand washing in on a beach, while the colour has such a rich warmth and subtle glow. The drawers sit nicely within the ash frame with soft radius corners leading to the plain ash ash grain sides. Topped of with a thick thumb nail edged worktop.
Each of the drawers with contrasting darker knobs is partially lined with a light blue painted paper stuck to the drawer boxes, giving it an amazing colour contrast with the ash timber. Each drawer has a brass escutcheon to take a key with a lock behind (no key).
The condition is outstanding, the colour delightful, and the build quality is second to none. With mixed sized drawers you have all your storage covered, A heavy piece that was built to last any centuries to come.
