Vintage Chinese Square Wooden Well Bucket
The maker of this water bucket has carefully considered the use and although appears primitive, shows skill. Surprisingly lightweight, appearances are deceiving the wood used is not known.
With naïve dovetail joints to the corner edges and side bars on the base giving bracing and allowing the bucket to stand off the ground. The side bar handles have been carved or bent inwards towards the top to meet the central carrying bar. This too has been carved too and has tiny wooden pins to hold the top into place.
The bucket has been used and has character to it, intact it has life of use yet. Would make a great garden trug, gather flowers from the garden perhaps. How about to use to take out condiments to a table in the garden, after all it is lightweight. Could be used to hold newspapers and magazines.
At 510h x 360w x 325d the internal bucket depth is 230mm
A great little piece of interest to compliment any room.
