Rare Ib Kofod Larsen teak open armchair with black button backed cushions on the seat & back rest.
Rare Ib Kofod-Larsen teak open armchair with black button backed cushions on the seat & back rest.
The chair has had new Fagas patent straps with integrated steel metal clips that are angled at 30 degrees inwards. These were the same as originally supplied back in the 1960's.
You can see the original blue print detailed design (3rd image in) that Kofod-Larsen produced for G-PLAN back in the early 60's. When you study the concept, it is still streets ahead of anything currently offered on the market new or old today. Kofod- Larsen managed to produce a timeless design that will go on looking stunning for years to come.
Very similar in design to the 'Kanidaten' for the European market back then by Kofod-Larsen. The difference being the seating material, back support material and a few variations in joints. But it was made for a more affordable market in the 1960's. However, although it was constructed for a more affordable market place, the quality of materials and design do not impact on the piece at all.
'Timeless, Elegant & Extremely Comfortable' this should have been his strapline!
